Cathcart and District Community Council are delighted to bring local people together in our library hub, to listen to speakers, whilst enjoying a hot drink in a warm and friendly environment.
Based on the hugely successful Micro Talks West Kilbride, we’re delighted to launch Micro Talks Cathcart!
MicroTalks involve a range of speakers presenting 20 slides for 20 seconds each (6min 40Seconds total). The result is an eclectic, fast moving, engaging, sometimes amusing, always thought-provoking event.
We’re really excited to announce the lineup of speakers for Saturday 20 April 2024:
- Carolyn Lochead – What the heck is a Community Council anyway?
- Melody Butcher – Postcards and beyond: stories of postcards, stamps and letterboxes
- Irene O’Brian – Glasgow’s 850th anniversary and its early history
- Rachel McLauchlan – Musings from a beginner bird watcher
- Pippa Stephenson-Sit – Discovering Degas: collecting in the time of William Burrell
- Kevin Kerrigan – Finding Benny
The event is free and everyone is welcome!
