We meet every second Wednesday of the month 7-9pm in Cathcart Baptist Church

Micro Talks at the Couper

Cathcart and District Community Council are delighted to bring local people together in our library hub, to listen to speakers, whilst enjoying a hot drink in a warm and friendly environment.

Based on the hugely successful Micro Talks West Kilbride, we’re delighted to launch Micro Talks Cathcart!

MicroTalks involve a range of speakers presenting 20 slides for 20 seconds each (6min 40Seconds total). The result is an eclectic, fast moving, engaging, sometimes amusing, always thought-provoking event.

We’re really excited to announce the lineup of speakers for Saturday 20 April 2024:

  • Carolyn Lochead – What the heck is a Community Council anyway?
  • Melody Butcher – Postcards and beyond: stories of postcards, stamps and letterboxes
  • Irene O’Brian – Glasgow’s 850th anniversary and its early history
  • Rachel McLauchlan – Musings from a beginner bird watcher
  • Pippa Stephenson-Sit – Discovering Degas: collecting in the time of William Burrell
  • Kevin Kerrigan – Finding Benny

The event is free and everyone is welcome!
