Actions and matters arising from last meetingName change of CDCC – Council have agreed this is possible but to ensure all areas are represented if this is the reason to do so. Majority CC agree by majority this is a good idea – proposal to be discussed Pavement parking restrictions – to next meeting (Stephen) PVG checks (Cllr Vallis) – chasing up responseInformal consultation. Check costs. Look into “formal” boundaries / names.

Chair’s report- Carolyn LochheadUpdate from Report:  Priority 1 – Reopen Linn Park at Snuff Mill – funding in place is for the design and planning of work needed, to be complete by end Mar25. This will give costing to allow for funding application to match £85k from GCC. Procurement process potentially allows for direct delivery of works by consultant/contractor company.   Priority 6 – Engage with Community Letter going out to residents from Govanhill HA will include reminder on car free zone. Organising events including summer fun day.  Mural – suggestion for opening event with local MP, Lord Provost, Cathcart’s oldest and youngest residents.   Vacant CC slot – Pauline Kelly happy to stand as a new member.  Merrylee Primary Pitch – Costing to be in place by April AP meeting to allow funding to be (hopefully) allocated.Carolyn check in with GCC on process
Results of Community Survey- Mhairi TaylorPresentation on findings from planning session (Nov2024) were discussed in Jan2025 and prioritised through community survey. 520 responses received; priorities assessed.  Many comments made; some reflect lack of awareness of our progress/activities.  Next steps identified.
Couper Institute – Cllr Vallis / Carolyn Lochhead / Yla BarrieCllr Vallis: Offer a committed partnership with GLife/Council – giving assurance that we are not just looking at one-off events programme but that we are taking investing in it seriously.   See note for update. Key is to keep using the building. We will work out our proposal and requirements e.g. need to complete PAT to allow for use of facilities. Still work to be done on advertising / enabling use of the venue.
Events Plan – Yla Barrie / Tommy Petillowww.windowwanderland.com/event/cathcart-2025/ 79 Mar 2025 Advertising locally to residents and businesses. Working on music acts. Thanks to Emma Durnam for her lovely design work on the flyer. Workshops being run to help designers.   Microtalks 5 April, 2-4pm, Couper Library. Space in programme available for microspeakers 😊  Max 80 people can be attendance in the room (including computer users)  Games night for teenagers (Couper Institute) – awaiting PVG checks  Taste Cathcart: looking to tie in with Glasgow 850 – one theme is “taste the place” working with local food venues.  Looking into funding film nights for grown ups  Summer Festival in August; ideas include micro/macro talks, doors open day, big band night.
Area Planning Partnership report – Mhairi TaylorNext meeting Weds 19th 2pm – Community Councillor volunteer needed to attend  Funding requests need to fit with AP Priorities (relatively easy) – best to apply to each of 3 APs for requests. Proposals ready for April meeting applications.VOL REQ    Carolyn
Summary of Councillors’ written updates:Ballie McCabe: Council budget confirms closure/disposal of Couper Institute has been removed from savings proposals. More info in Baillie McCabe’s report.  Cllr Fergusson: chasing up issues with 374 bus service. Storm damage being tidied up. One-way roads in Merrylee – proposals would require community consultation and demonstration of demand/support.
Licencing report – Steven McCannNo update.
Planning report – Louisa Maddison24/02664/FUL | flatted residential development (8 units)  | 47 Craig Road – Pending (still under consideration).
Treasurer’s report – Lynn ThomsonReport provided. Current balance £1,908.82 Outgoings on events, meeting hall let, admin needs.
AOCBMerrylee Road repairs to take place during Feb.  Note opportunities to get involved with Glasgow 850 for individuals, business etc https://www.glasgow850.com/article/9795/Get-Involved  Chatterbooks in Couper Library for 8-12 year olds, launches Wed 26 Feb  Police presence: be great to see the Police, or receive a written report   Feedback from library suggestion box – Kate Lonergan. No comments. Suggest promoting the box online – make a proposal for next meeting.  Barriers outside Seesaw (Lynn Thomson) damaged with temporary repair in place.Cllr Fergusson  Kate / Tommy  Lynne raise with Cllr.
